‘Made the wrong move’… ESPN pundit says ‘£100m player’ should have signed for Liverpool

There was a lot of uproar about Liverpool’s transfer activity last year. Especially in the summer window. The club opted not to sign Jude Bellingham, who ended up going to Real Madrid.

And then later on in the window, Liverpool made a last-minute scramble to lure Moises Caicedo to the club as well.

In the end, that too was to no avail. The Ecuadorean had set his mind on Chelsea and there was no way his mind was going to be changed.

Alas, Liverpool had to make do with Wataru Endo – but that is a decision they will be extremely content with based on his recent performances.

Moises Caicedo made the wrong move

Caicedo’s transfer to Chelsea has not been a glittering move yet for the talented midfielder. Chelsea have struggled this season and Caicedo hasn’t really adjusted to life at Stamford Bridge just yet.

Speaking on ESPN, pundit and former Chelsea midfielder, Craig Burley admitted that he thinks Caicedo made the wrong move. Instead, Burley thinks he should have moved to Liverpool or Arsenal.

“At Brighton, he looked like a £100 million player,” Burley said.

“He was a right player at Brighton, he was. Arsenal wanted him, Chelsea, Liverpool wanted him. Chelsea got him. He should’ve gone to Liverpool or Arsenal, not Chelsea. That’s a different story. He’s made the wrong move at this moment in time, no sign of that changing.”

You cannot argue with Burley’s words at the moment. Liverpool are currently fighting on all fronts, including for the Premier League title, meanwhile Chelsea are languishing in mid-table.
