There has been a big question mark over Liverpool this month. The big looming absence of Mohamed Salah has made pundits sceptical about the Reds’ chances of maintaining a leg in the title race.
Salah’s absence is a huge loss for Liverpool – there is absolutely no shying away from that fact. He’s been his incredible self as usual this season and has produced the goods time and time again. With 22 goal contributions in 20 games in the league, he is once again setting his own standards.
However, despite being without his ludicrous talent, there should be no qualms over Liverpool. The last few weeks have proven, Jurgen Klopp’s team are in safe hands even in the absence of Salah.
And that’s largely down to the emergence from injury of Diogo Jota.

Diogo Jota is doing incredible things
Since coming back from injury, Diogo Jota is still yet to start a game for Liverpool. Yet three times in a row now he has come off the bench to make a goal contribution.
His first being a decisive goal against Burnley, his second an assist against Newcastle United, and then his third being another assist against Arsenal in the dying throes of the game. If we also add the penalty he won against Newcastle – which was converted by Salah – the Portuguese forward has been involved in a total of four goals over just 63 minutes of football played in that time.
There is no denying the fact that this is an incredible rate of return and it highlights Jota’s value. The Liverpool forward is simply a phenomenal finisher and decision maker in the final third.
The fact that he is averaging a goal contribution every 90 minutes in all competitions for Liverpool – the highest of any Premier League player is further proof.
It’s obvious he’s only just getting started as well – more goals will come when Klopp decides he is ready to start games for Liverpool again. Jota has returned for Liverpool at the perfect time and he’s shown with him in the side Liverpool have nothing to fear this month.
