Trent Alexander-Arnold has done something more than any other player in all of Europe so far this season

As usual Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold has been on another level this season. Especially over the last month or so since scoring that equaliser against Manchester City and sporting his adidas Predators for the first time.

He has seven goal contributions in his last 10 games, which would be a commendable effort from an attacker, let alone a full-back. But the Liverpool star has always been in a realm of his own – sometimes even in another stratosphere.

Even at times last season when he was perhaps not bringing his best to the table he still had extraordinary moments.

And since Jurgen Klopp has moved him into an inverted full-back, bringing him into central areas, Alexander-Arnold has been even more special and key to how Liverpool play.

In a league of his own

WhoScored has recently highlighted just how brilliant Alexander-Arnold has been this season. According to the site’s data nobody in Europe’s top five leagues has made as many entries into the opposition’s final third as Alexander-Arnold with 512 in total.

That’s an average of around 25.6 per game which is an incredible number and highlights just how often Liverpool turn to the full-back to advance situations and instigate attacks.

Alexander-Arnold is undoubtedly one of the best creators and progressors in world football. The fact that he is still only 25 years old, and yet to hit his professional ceiling in the game make all his incredible numbers all the more impressive.

Despite some criticism around his defensive game (which has also been much improved this season), the merits of having him in the team far outweigh the occasional ‘weaknesses.’
