Divock Origi to many has been one of Liverpool’s most important players this century, yet Jamie Carragher has had some choice words on the Belgian.
The striker left Anfield having left an unimaginable footprint on Liverpool’s history, with Origi the hero against FC Barcelona in 2019 and scoring in the UEFA Champions League final the same year.
Having also scored some massive goals for Liverpool in their 2020 Premier League-winning season, Origi’s impact and legacy with the Reds is obvious for everyone to see.

However, speaking on Stick to Football, Carragher admitted that he isn’t convinced that Origi is a good footballer, with the attacker now back in the Premier League with Nottingham Forest.
Indeed, there’s no denying that Origi’s career hasn’t hit the heights it potentially could have since leaving Liverpool in 2022, and Carragher had some choice words on the former LOSC Lille star.
The Liverpool defensive legend said when asked about if Origi has what it takes to impress for Forest: “I love Divock Origi but he’s not a good footballer.”
Jamie Carragher’s Divock Origi comments are unfair to his Liverpool legacy

Branded by many as a ‘legend’ of Liverpool, Origi is for many as important as a Roberto Firmino or Virgil van Dijk in the modern history of the Reds.
And for Carragher, the pundit should put some more respect on Origi’s name given all the Belgian international has done for Liverpool during his spell at the club.
Of course, the striker isn’t a world-class attacker like Mohamed Salah or Sadio Mane, but Origi has had as big an impact as the aforementioned names with goals in the Premier League and Champions League.
