Kalvin Phillips’ representatives are reportedly talking to Manchester City to grant a January exit, with the midfielder rumoured to be wanted by Liverpool.
The England international has hardly featured for Pep Guardiola’s side since signing for the reigning Premier League champions last year in a £45m deal.
As a result, reports have emerged that Phillips is set to leave City in January, with Liverpool one of the clubs interested in signing the 28-year-old midfielder.

Now, according to the Guardian’s Ed Aarons, talks are taking place between Phillips’ representatives and City about finding the former Leeds United star a new club in January.
With Liverpool interested in signing a defensive midfielder next month, a potential loan deal for Phillips could be a dream addition for Jurgen Klopp’s side.
However, with City looking to retain their Premier League title, selling or loaning Phillips to a direct rival in Liverpool could be a tough sell for the Manchester giants.
Liverpool have to do all they can to sign Kalvin Phillips

After the success of Oleksandr Zinechenko and Gabriel Jesus at Arsenal, City have firmly learnt their lesson in selling top players to Premier League rivals.
And as a result, Liverpool face a big ask in attempting to lure Phillips to Anfield, even if the player himself is keen on a move to Merseyside.
Liverpool’s standing in the title race could make a deal almost-impossible, but the Reds have shown before that they can pull off the unlikely in the transfer window.
Indeed, an attempt has to be made from Liverpool’s end to bring Phillips to Merseyside, and the Reds could hit gold if City allow the midfielder to leave.
