Danny Murphy has now predicted Mohamed Salah to stay at Liverpool next summer despite ongoing transfer speculation.
The 31-year-old winger has once again emerged as a target for Saudi Arabia, with Saudi Pro League officials reportedly viewing Salah as a more attractive prospect than Cristiano Ronaldo.
Having already rejected a move earlier this year, all signs seem to currently point towards Salah leaving Liverpool for the Middle East at the end of this season.
However, speaking to the Daily Mail, pundit Murphy has predicted that Salah could now stay at Liverpool having thrived this season in a new senior role under Jurgen Klopp.
Murphy said: “I thought he might go to Saudi last summer but now I feel he may stay next year, too. He seems to believe in the new project at Liverpool and is enjoying his role as a senior player in Klopp’s latest team.
“Salah is already in Liverpool’s greatest XI and probably the ultimate Premier League XI as well but I can’t see him superseding Kenny Dalglish or Steven Gerrard because they were at Anfield so long. One day, Salah may go to Saudi. But he’s as fit as a fiddle so there’s lots of time for that.”

Salah staying at Liverpool beyond this season would be a dream for many supporters, with the winger once again showing this season why he’s one of the best around.
However, given what we know and the rumours that are emerging on a seemingly daily basis, Salah heading to Saudi Arabia in 2024 still feels like the most likely outcome for next summer.
As we know, Liverpool rejected a Premier League record offer earlier this year for Salah, and the Reds could be helpless to reject a similar bid next year for the 31-year-old.
With time to actually find a replacement, Salah leaving for the Middle East seems inevitable, with the winger due to leave Anfield a legend of the club and of the Premier League.
