Alexis Mac Allister yesterday made a lighthearted jab at Mohamed Salah after the Liverpool winger posted a team photo on Instagram.

The Egyptian winger made history on Saturday as the attacker scored his 200th goal for the Reds, becoming only the fifth player ever in Liverpool’s history to reach such a feat.

As an act of recognition, Liverpool gifted Salah a 200 goal shirt in which the forward posed with on his official Instagram account, though Mac Allister did not feature in the image.

With the Argentine international out injured, there’s every chance that Mac Allister missed the photo shoot due to be on the treatment table or doing rehabilitation.

Yet despite this logical excuse, it didn’t stop Mac Allister from taking a lighthearted dig at Salah, with the midfielder leaving the comment: “Congratulations momito! Thank you for waiting.”

Indeed, Mac Allister’s funny jab at Salah seems to indicate that the 24-year-old was aware that he would miss the post, despite everyone and anyone being involved in the picture.

Mac Allister might not be completely up and running yet at Liverpool, but the midfielder will certainly be keen to return to the field to play alongside Salah.

The Liverpool winger remains one of the best players in the world and an alluring proposition for any player who the Reds are looking to sign in the transfer window.

And Mac Allister is likely no different, with the Brighton & Hove Albion star slowly but surely learning the ropes of what it’s like to play for Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool.

As a result, learning to play with Salah is key, and the Argentine international will be eager to return to action soon to play alongside the winger yet again in the starting XI.
