Thiago Alcantara has strongly hinted that he could be set to return from injury after missing months of action for Liverpool.
The Spanish international is yet to play a single minute of football this season having once again suffered from fitness problems that has kept Thiago out since the end of the last campaign.
Yet taking to Twitter, the 32-year-old midfielder has posted an image of himself returning to Kirkby for training, with Thiago also posing with Mohamed Salah for his 200th goal celebration picture.
With Liverpool suffering a number of injuries in recent days with the likes of Joel Matip and Alexis Mac Allister, Thiago returning to first-team action is a huge boost for the Reds this festive period.
Indeed, Jurgen Klopp has got his squad firing again as the Reds sit top of the Premier League, with a massive clash against Manchester United coming up this weekend.
And whilst it’s too early to say if Thiago will be fit enough to feature on Sunday, the Spaniard being spotted in training is a huge breath of fresh air for Liverpool.
Thiago Alcantara could be an unlikely hero for Liverpool in 2024
With Thiago’s contract due to expire at the end of this season, it’s clear that the midfielder will be leaving Anfield for greener pastures in 2024.
However, if the former Bayern Munich man can get fit enough before the end of the year to be considered for selection, Thiago could play a massive role for Liverpool in the Premier League.
The title is firmly on for the Reds, and with a player as experienced and as good as Thiago now potentially available, that’s an incredible weapon Klopp has at his disposal.
If Thiago can stay fit for the next six months, Liverpool have a hugely incredible outlet to add to their midfield ranks that could force the Reds into dipping into the January market.
