Liverpool have reportedly stepped up their interest in TSG Hoffenheim striker Maximilian Beier, who has been in sensational form this season.

The 21-year-old attacker has emerged as one of the breakout stars in the Bundesliga this campaign, with Beier hitting six goals and four assists for Hoffenheim already in the German top-flight.

Liverpool have been reportedly tracking Beier for some time, yet it now appears that the Reds have taken their interest for the attacker to a new level in recent days.

According to SportBild, Liverpool have the young attacker on their transfer watchlist for the January transfer window, with other Premier League clubs also keeping an eye on Beier.

Indeed, with Beier a contender to make Germany’s squad for next year’s Euros, agreeing a deal to sign the striker in January could be a wise decision for Liverpool.

Moreover, with a release clause worth £25m, a potential bargain could be in the works if the Reds decide now to launch their move for Beier.

Beier’s breakthrough year in the Bundesliga has shown the world an attacking prospect who could one day play for one of Europe’s biggest clubs in the years to come.

And for Liverpool, they should look to be that side who claim the striker’s signature, with Beier a player who could excel at Anfield under Klopp.

At 21, Beier is very much at the start of his footballing career, and at Liverpool with the right training and development, the German youth international could become a superstar.

With a £25m release clause just sitting their waiting to be activated, Liverpool would be wise to make a real move to sign Beier, who could be an ideal fit for the Reds.
