Trent Alexander-Arnold has now shared why Virgil van Dijk is annoyed at his Liverpool’s teammate after their 4-3 win against Fulham.
The England international bagged an unofficial brace including a late winner as the Reds scored two dramatic goals against the west London side to secure all three points.
Alexander-Arnold was, of course, the star of the match, with the defender adding to his heroics against Manchester City with one of his best attacking performances of the season for Liverpool.

And speaking to LFCTV GO, the defender has now admitted that Van Dijk is mad at him for making him do a knee slide celebration, causing the Dutch centre-back to get cuts on his knees.
Alexander-Arnold said on his teammate’s bruises: “Nah! See that’s why I didn’t knee slide. He has cuts on his knees now because he said it’s the first time he’s done a knee slide.
“For someone like him who is very calm and composed to be doing a knee slide when he’s not even the one who scored just showed how much it meant to the team. It was massively important to get the win we needed to stay where we need to and keep pushing, we have a big week ahead of us.”
Virgil van Dijk can’t be blamed for celebrating Trent Alexander-Arnold’s heroics

When a defender as mature as Van Dijk is getting carried away with late winners, you know you’ve done something rather special at Anfield.
And Alexander-Arnold did just that on Sunday, with the right-back’s winning goal one of the defender’s best in his already impressive arsenal of Premier League goals.
Although Van Dijk’s knees might not forgive the England international, the small sacrifice is worth it to show off his passion for Liverpool and his love for Alexander-Arnold.
