‘His development is crazy’… Jurgen Klopp says one Liverpool player has improved so much

Jurgen Klopp has lauded Trent Alexander-Arnold’s development this season, with the Liverpool defender the man of the match yesterday against Fulham.

The England superstar scored an unofficial brace in Liverpool’s dramatic 4-3 victory against the Cottagers, with Alexander-Arnold bagging the crucial winner for the Anfield side.

The defender was the best player on the pitch by some distance, and speaking to the Athletic, Klopp has now lauded Alexander-Arnold’s development this season.

Taking on the role as vice-captain, the 25-year-old has eased into a leadership role at Liverpool despite his young age, with Alexander-Arnold already wearing the armband on numerous occasions this campaign.

And the defender’s recent goalscoring antics have been a welcome addition to Alexander-Arnold’s game, with Klopp very pleased with how the fullback has progressed in recent weeks.

Klopp said on Alexander-Arnold: “His development is crazy. Today he was a real leader on the pitch, that’s probably the biggest improvement if you want.”

Alexander-Arnold’s form in recent games has been nothing short of spectacular, with the likes of Gary Lineker praising the Liverpool defender.

And it’s quite clear that Klopp can push the England international even further, with Alexander-Arnold still showing that he can offer a lot more to Liverpool in the Premier League.

Indeed, the right-back must feel like he’s on top of the world after his two wonderful goals on the weekend against Fulham heading into the festive period.

Yet for many fans, they all know that Alexander-Arnold can push up to another level, with the defender starting to find his feet this season.
