Liverpool sporting director Jorg Schmadtke has made a new transfer recommendation to Jurgen Klopp.

Having been surprisingly brought out of retirement in July, Schmadtke did a good job for Liverpool during the summer transfer market. The German was initially added in on a short-term capacity, but has since continued in his role for the Reds.

And now, as per Italian outlet Calciomercato,it, Schmadtke is actively making suggestions to Klopp for future transfers. With Jurgen claimed to be looking for a new attacking option with false nine capabilities, the sporting director has urged him to sign Juventus teenager Kenan Yildiz.

Having reportedly taken an interest in the attacker during his formative days at Bayern Munich, Yildiz is said to be a long-standing target for Schmadtke.

And with the 18-year-old having since moved to Italy and made the breakthrough to senior football, Liverpool are now claimed to be on his trail.

In light of the Reds’ interest, Juventus are said to be unwilling to sell. However, the Old Lady are reportedly in no position to reject big offers at the moment. With Liverpool claimed to be keen to ‘spare no expense’ on Yildiz, Juve would seemingly listen to a good offer.

Liverpool after Yildiz

Yildiz is something of a hot prospect in European football right now. Having made the breakthrough at Juve, the teenager is also shining on the international stage for Turkey.

After making his debut in October, Yildiz now has three caps for the Turks, and already has a goal to his name.

Coming through at such a big club and getting international recognition was bound to lead to the spotlight being shone on the former Bayern youngster.

Nevertheless, we don’t think Liverpool are necessarily the team most in need of a player like Yildiz.

As the report from Italy even points out, the Reds can currently boast their own 18-year-old attacking sensation. His name is Ben Doak and he looks set to be a fixture in the first-team for years to come.

With big things also expected of the likes of Kaide Gordon, it would seem frivolous to add another youngster to that mix. Especially for big money.

There’s no question that Yilidiz has the talent to be a success in the game. But unless anything changes in regards to Liverpool’s forward options, they simply don’t need him right now.

Nevertheless, with Schmadtke seemingly a long-time fan, perhaps he can persuade Klopp that Yildiz is too good to let go.
