‘Very talented’ £40m player now wants Premier League move after claims Liverpool hope to sign him

Jean-Clair Todibo is reportedly keen on a move to the Premier League with Liverpool interested in signing the French central defender.

The OGC Nice star has established himself as one of the most in-demand centre-backs in Europe over the last 12 months, with Liverpool reportedly hoping to sign Todibo in the January transfer window.

Praised by Aaron Ramsey as a ‘very talented’ prospect, the 23-year-old defender has been one of the best in Ligue 1 this season with Nice, who are challenging PSG for the French title.

And now, according to the Evening Standard, Todibo is keen on a move to the Premier League, with Manchester United and now Tottenham also interested in signing the former FC Barcelona man.

With Liverpool in the market to sign a central defender, Todibo ticks a lot of boxes for what the Reds are looking for in a potential signing in January.

And with the 23-year-old now keen on a move to England, there’s little stopping Liverpool from making a move of their own to sign Todibo in 2024.

Todibo has had quite the turnaround in the last 18 months, from going yet another failed Barcelona wonderkid to one of the best defenders in Europe this season.

And for Liverpool, the youngster could be an exceptional long-term signing, with a centre-back exactly what the Reds are looking for in the January transfer market.

Whilst there’s already competition from the likes of Tottenham and United, Liverpool’s standing in the Premier League title race could make the favourites to sign Todibo.

Moreover, with fellow French international Ibrahima Konate already at the club, there’s a strong incentive for Todibo to make the move to Liverpool to link up with his defensive teammate.
