Liverpool youngster Bobby Clark came off the bench to provide an exquisite assist for Darwin Nunez this evening.
The Reds beat AC Milan 4-1 in Dubai, as they rounded off their mid-season training camp with a win in today’s friendly. Nunez will claim the headlines for his two-goal cameo, but it was 17-year-old Clark who served up the moment of the match.
As per Liverpool FC on Twitter, Clark picked the ball up just outside his own area. He then strolled it forwards 10 yards or so, surveying what was ahead of him. Seeing Nunez set off in-behind the last man, the youngster then pinged a delightful 60-yard ball towards the striker’s path.
The pass had the absolute perfect amount of fade on it and barely got off the ground. Nunez didn’t even have to break stride as he ran onto it ahead of the defender, and slotted past Antonio Mirante. Hats off, Bobby, what a pass that is!
Clark catching Klopp’s eye
Wow, oh wow, what a pass! When you see a player off just seventeen hit a ball like that, it’s time to sit up and take note.
Not to put too much pressure on Clark, but that is something straight out of the top draw. You can bet Jurgen Klopp and Pep Lijnders’ eyes will have lit up at the sight of it.
It wouldn’t have been the first time Klopp has been impressed by Clark either. At the start of Liverpool’s camp in Dubai, Jurgen called the teenager a ‘really interesting player.’ It’s clear that the former Newcastle United man has piqued his manager’s attention.
Klopp doesn’t hand out first team minutes for free, and Clark has already made two appearances for the senior team. If he keeps on impressing like this, then that number will grow considerably over the coming months.

Indeed, it has already been reported that Bobby is set to stay around the first team environment throughout this season.
Loan interest in him is reportedly strong. But Liverpool are said to be willing to rebuff any attempts to take him this winter. That should mean that opportunities will come along at some stage.
So, the future certainly looks bright for the son of former Premier League midfielder Lee Clark.
It was a bold move to leave his hometown club at the age of sixteen, but it looks like it’s starting to pay off now. Keep it up, Bobby!
