Darwin Nunez failed to get on the scoresheet in Liverpool’s 1-1 draw with Manchester City on Saturday, yet the forward has been subject to criticism.
Having been seen arguing with Pep Guardiola at full-time, BBC Sport pundit Garth Crooks has now slammed the 24-year-old striker after his argument with the City manager.
Whilst Liverpool fans rightly loved what they saw from the Uruguay international, Crooks was far from pleased with what he saw from Nunez, who let the occasion get to him after the match had ended.

Indeed, nothing bad came from the incident, which has now largely been forgotten about. Yet that still hasn’t stopped some pundits from taking aim at Nunez.
Crooks wrote: “This was a good performance by Liverpool at Manchester City, although Darwin Nunez tried his best to spoil it.
“Nunez should really spend his time concentrating on why he’s not scoring more goals instead of picking fights and venting his frustrations with the opposition manager because he’s been substituted.”
Darwin Nunez could have handled himself better in Liverpool’s draw with Manchester City

Given the size of the fixture on Saturday, it’s perhaps not too surprising that some tempers flared at the Etihad Stadium come the full-time whistle.
Yet for Nunez, the striker could have handled himself a bit better, with the forward now attracting negative attention towards himself and Liverpool as a club.
Whilst the matter is now largely forgotten, the likes of Crooks now have ammo to use at Nunez, who even after a good season is still being unfairly criticised by pundits and supporters.
The forward should do his talking on the pitch, and getting into an argument with Guardiola would have done little to win supporters on his side.
