Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has highlighted two Liverpool players ahead of tomorrow’s game.
The Reds take on Man City at lunchtime on Saturday aiming to take their spot at the top of the Premier League table.
Ahead of the game, Guardiola spoke to the press, and when asked about Jurgen Klopp and his team, made a point to mention two of Liverpool’s attacking threats.
“He makes me a better manager through his teams,” admitted the City manager.
“The transitions, the space they make in behind, [Darwin] Nunez, [Mohamed] Salah. They have a fantastic team, no doubt.”
Guardiola wary of Liverpool attack
Guardiola is right to be worried about the threat Liverpool pose his team tomorrow. Few teams are able to contain Salah and Nunez for too long.
The two forwards clearly love playing together, with Nunez providing yet another assist for Mo last time out against Brentford.
Nevertheless, it remains to be seen whether Pep truly has to be concerned about Liverpool’s newest menacing duo for the full game tomorrow.
We’ve often seen Liverpool’s No.9 rested on the back of an international break and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see the same at the Etihad.
That would be a real shame for Nunez and Liverpool. The Uruguayan is in tremendous form and looks just about the Reds’ most dangerous attacker right now. Regardless of some slight fitness issues, he surely has to start.

Relegate him to the bench and Liverpool still have firepower, but it’s Nunez who will likely be worrying the Man City back line the most.
Without Darwin though, Salah will still be around. The Egyptian wouldn’t miss a game like this if he’d have flown in from Cairo ten minutes before kick-off. He’ll be there and aiming to get the two goals to take him to 200 for Liverpool.
Having already put a number of teams to the sword this season, these two will be looking to take their biggest scalp of all this weekend. And Pep knows it.
