Gabriel Agbonlahor has now suggested that Liverpool’s Alisson Becker is a better player than his Manchester City counterpart Ederson Moraes.

The two Brazilian goalkeepers have been a revelation in the Premier League since joining their respective clubs, with the pair becoming two of the most influential players in the position in the modern era.

Whilst Ederson has won more league titles, a good argument can be made that Alisson’s impact in England has been greater, with Chris Kirkland recently lauding the Liverpool goalkeeper.

Praised by Gary Neville as ‘the best in the world’, the 31-year-old shot-stopper has been immense for Liverpool since joining the club from AS Roma.

And talking on TalkSport, Agbonlahor has now named Alisson as the better keeper out of the Liverpool star and Ederson, with the pair set to face one another this weekend in the Premier League.

The former Aston Villa attacker said when asked who is better: “I’m going to go with Alisson, I think he’s got everything. Better shot-stopper than Ederson and still great with his feet.”

Saturday’s clash between City and Liverpool could set the tempo for the Premier League title race this season, and Alisson will want to be at his absolute best.

The 31-year-old has been remarkable already this campaign and has been key in Liverpool’s potential bid for top honours in English football, and Saturday will be a key fixture for Alisson.

The Brazilian international knows that he will have to once again show the world why he is one of the best in his position and why he is better than his fellow countryman in Ederson.

Indeed, Alisson has the quality to dictate the game in Liverpool’s favour on the weekend, and getting one over on Ederson yet again will be a motivating factor for the goalkeeper.
