Dominik Szoboszlai has been a revelation for Liverpool since joining this summer, and the midfielder’s performance tonight for Hungary was quite something.

Two goals and an assist helped the 23-year-old book his ticket to next year’s Euros, with Szoboszlai wearing the captain’s armband for Hungary with glorious purpose.

And heading into next week’s clash with Manchester City, the reigning English champions will have to be scared with the sort of form Liverpool star Szoboszlai is now in.

Szoboszlai’s performances for Hungary this season have been nothing short of incredible, with fellow Liverpool teammate Cody Gakpo enjoying what he has seen in recent games.

And with the youngster in such good form, there will now be an expectation from Liverpool fans for Szoboszlai to repeat his international performances at club level, specifically, next weekend.

Indeed, Szoboszlai has transformed Liverpool’s midfield into one of the most exciting in the entire Premier League, and supporters will want to see the 23-year-old dominate in Manchester against City.

A win on Saturday could be seismic for Liverpool in their bid to win the Premier League title, and if Szoboszlai can repeat his performance tonight, the Reds are in for something truly special.

The midfielder has shown plenty of glimpses of his world-class quality during his time as a Liverpool player, yet we are yet to see Szoboszlai really take a game by the scruff of the neck and fully dictate it.

Yet that could completely change on Saturday against City, with Liverpool fans now hopeful of seeing Szoboszlai at his absolute best in the biggest match of the season so far.
