Tottenham Hotspur forward Dejan Kulusevski raves about Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah

Tottenham Hotspur forward Dejan Kulusevski has praised the consistent goal-scoring of Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah.

Salah has been one of the most prolific forwards in the Premier League since arriving at Anfield from Roma in 2018.

Although the 31-year-old gets the goals of a striker though, he is in fact a winger. As a result, he’s eligible for the kinds of lists TNT Sports asked Kulusevski to name: top five Premier League wingers of all time. The Spurs man slid Mo in at number three.

“At number three I have to say Mo Salah,” said the Sweden international. “Because every season he scores at least 20, 25 goals, 20 assists.

“Unbelievable player year after year, you can see how hard he works. He’s a great player and one of the best in the history of the Premier League.”

Salah gets Kulusevski recognition

Having been named as one of the best ‘strikers’ in the history of England’s top flight only last week, it’s interesting to see Salah now appear on a separate ‘wingers’ list.

In truth, he lies somewhere in-between. But if you are going to name the Egyptian as a wing-wizard, then how can he not be number one?

Inevitably, at number two Kulusevski went with one player in particular who is often debated as being a greater Premier League winger than Salah – Cristiano Ronaldo.

There’s no arguing with Ronaldo’s greatness on the football field. The 38-year-old is without question one of the top players to ever play the game. Period.

But in terms of English football, he doesn’t stack up to Mo. Of course, the Portuguese won more titles than Salah, three to one. In individual terms though, the Liverpool man outstrips him fairly comfortably.

Salah has never scored less than 19 goals over six seasons for Liverpool. After 12 games of the current campaign he looks likely to keep that run going into a seventh year.

Remarkably, in six seasons at a dominant Manchester United, Ronaldo only scored more than 19 on one occasion. Granted that season was one of the best individual performances of any player in the history of the division, but Mo also outscored his 31-goal record in his very first season at Anfield.

So, we’re not having that Salah sits below Ronaldo here.

Kulusevski also goes on to name Chelsea legend Eden Hazard as number one, which although we don’t agree with, as a matter of personal taste we can’t get too mad about. But Mo should be number one!
