Jurgen Klopp was blown away by Darwin Nunez’s work-rate in Liverpool’s 3-0 win against Brentford this weekend.
Speaking to Match of the Day 2, the Anfield boss was full of praise for the 24-year-old attacker, who despite failing to get on the scoresheet was once again brilliant for Liverpool.
Nunez saw two goals ruled out for offside by VAR as Liverpool cruised to a comfortable 3-0 result against Brentford, taking the Reds to second in the Premier League standings.

And Klopp was pleased with what he saw from Nunez, with the striker at his physical best against the Bees in what was a good performance from the Uruguay international.
Klopp said: “Top goals, top performances – for example, Darwin. The work rate today, my God, second to none. It is so important in these games that they cannot play the ball when they want.
“They have to play them when we want. That means we have to press them and that’s what the boys up-front did all the time.”
Klopp has finally got Nunez clicking at Liverpool

Nunez might have failed to fire his name onto the scoresheet against Brentford, but there’s no denying that Klopp has finally got the striker playing for Liverpool.
An uncomfortable first year has been dusted away in stunning fashion already by Nunez, and the best is still yet to come from the attacker leading Liverpool’s line.
Indeed, the striker knows he has the potential to become a superstar at Anfield, and Klopp is now giving Nunez the tools to do just that.
