David Seaman predicts the score of Liverpool’s Premier League game against Brentford on Sunday

David Seaman has predicted Liverpool to bounce back from two disappointing results to secure a big win on Sunday.

The Reds followed up last weekend’s dismal 1-1 draw against Luton Town with an even worse performance in the Europa League last night. After falling to a 3-2 defeat against Toulouse, they now face Brentford at Anfield.

On paper, Liverpool are heavy favourites once again. And speaking on his Seaman Says podcast, the former England goalkeeper has backed Jurgen Klopp’s side to get a comfortable victory.

“I’ll go 3-0,” Seaman offered when asked to predict the scoreline.

We’re not sure it’ll be all that comfortable, with Brentford having won three in a row and sitting in ninth. But we’ll certainly take it.

Seaman backs Liverpool for big win

After two poor performances on the road, Liverpool will be relieved to be back at Anfield this weekend.

Despite their relative struggles away from home, the Reds are still imperious on their own turf. Their last Premier League defeat on Merseyside was now over one year ago.

Although they can’t rest on their laurels against a very good Bees team, you’d expect that record to be extended on Sunday.

Nevertheless, Liverpool have to be careful. As we saw last night, Klopp does have some things to work out, with who plays at left-back one of the most urgent questions.

There is also a slight worry over who starts in midfield. With Alexis Mac Allister suspended, and Curtis Jones and Ryan Gravenberch now injured, Liverpool are down to the bare bones.

Wataru Endo showed against Toulouse that he is still playing well below the standard expected of a Liverpool midfielder. But he’s going to have to go again here.

That may lead to some nervousness amongst the fans, who will remember how easily Brentford beat them in London last season.

With that in mind and on the back of the last couple of showings, we don’t think too many fans will be expecting as easy a win as Seaman is.

Still, if the forwards turn up and with some key men back in, Liverpool should win. Hopefully.
