Wataru Endo is a player who just sort of appeared out of nowhere for Liverpool this summer when the Japanese midfielder was signed by the Reds.

A £16m signing from VfB Stuttgart that got football hipsters and statisticians excited, Endo arrived on Merseyside with a big reputation and an impressive international CV.

However, it’s safe to say that the 30-year-old midfielder hasn’t hit the ground running at Liverpool, and Endo’s latest performance for the Reds once again left a lot to be desired.

Hooked off at halftime in Liverpool’s dramatic UEFA Europa League loss to Toulouse, Endo was lucky to escape a red card, with Joe Cole blasting the former Bundesliga star on TNT Sports.

And after this latest performance, question marks are starting to become a lot more solidified around Endo from Liverpool fans and Klopp, who as key to bringing the Japanese international to Anfield.

Indeed, at 30-years-old, Endo is already running out of time to impress at Liverpool, and the midfielder has to get his act together if he’s to have any sort of future on Merseyside.

Endo’s start to life in the Premier League has not gone to plan, and it now already feels like the midfielder is playing for his long-term future at Liverpool.

The switch from Germany to England has been a hard one for the Japanese star, and if Endo can’t find his rhythm soon enough, Klopp will have a big decision to make.

At 30, though, Endo has the experience to get back to his best, though even the midfielders’ biggest fans will admit that time is running out for the Liverpool man.
