Mark Schwarzer has said Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold has struggled against Luton Town’s Chiedozie Ogbene today.

Speaking on BBC Five Live, the pundit noted that the England international had arguably met his match this afternoon in the Premier League in Ogbene, who was dangerous in the opening hour for Luton.

Schwarzer said: “Chiedozie Ogbene is going to be a big problem for Liverpool. Down Liverpool’s right side Trent Alexander-Arnold has got a real handful. He’s not slow but Ogbene, he is absolutely rapid.”

With Luton enjoying a good half against Liverpool, Ogbene was on of the stars of the show for the Kenilworth Road side, with Alexander-Arnold struggling.

Indeed, the Liverpool defender has often found it hard to keep out attackers known for their pace and dribbling skills, and Ogbene has shown that he is such a winger this afternoon.

The Republic of Ireland international is enjoying a statement performance in the top-flight, and Alexander-Arnold will not want to look back at his opening half-display.

Few would have expected Liverpool to struggle against Luton this weekend, yet the newly-promoted side are giving the Reds quite the show at Kenilworth Road.

The Hatters have shown passion and grit in what is arguably their biggest game yet this season, and Liverpool have found it hard to respond against Rob Edwards’ side.

And for Alexander-Arnold, in particular, the battle against Ogbene has been one to forget, with the 25-year-old struggling for pace and power against the Luton forward.
