Jurgen Klopp will reportedly rest Alexis Mac Allister tonight in Liverpool’s League Cup clash against AFC Bournemouth.
According to the Liverpool Echo, the 24-year-old midfielder will be given the night off as Klopp looks to rotate his squad against the Cherries, with Curtis Jones expected to return to the XI.
Mac Allister started for Liverpool on the weekend in their 3-0 win against Nottingham Forest, with the Argentine international enjoying arguably his best game yet for the Reds.

Lauded as ‘fantastic’ by Emile Heskey, it’s been a slow start to life at Anfield for Mac Allister since joining from Brighton & Hove Albion in the summer.
Yet the £35m midfielder is now starting to get to grips with playing for Liverpool, with Mac Allister now a key starter in the main XI for Klopp in the Premier League.
Indeed, more minutes tonight could have been a good move from the Liverpool boss, yet with an away trip to Luton Town coming up, having Mac Allister fully fit is a wise decision.
Liverpool need to rest Mac Allister as much as possible

With Liverpool expected to go deep in all four competitions they’re competing in this season, keeping star players like Mac Allister will be key for Klopp.
And the Argentine getting some rest tonight is a good decision, especially with some big Premier League games coming up for Liverpool this month.
The 24-year-old is now a key clog for the Reds in their midfield, and resting Mac Allister and giving the likes of Jones and Harvey Elliott the start tonight will be ideal for the youngsters.
