Jamal Musiala is reportedly set to come second place tonight in the Kopa Trophy award, with Liverpool linked with a move for the Bayern Munich star.
According to journalist Patrick Berger, the 20-year-old attacking midfielder will be runner-up to this year’s Kopa Trophy, the award that recognises the best U-21 players on the planet.
The the surprise of nobody, Jude Bellingham is set to be take home the prize having established himself this year as the potential early favourite for the 2024 Ballon d’Or award.
Musiala coming second is still quite the achievement, though, with Liverpool no doubt pleased for the Bayern star amid ongoing transfer rumours.
The Reds have been strongly linked with a move to Musiala in recent weeks, and the youngster coming second in the Kopa Trophy race could add a few extra million to his asking price next year.
Liverpool have to make Musiala a priority in 2024

Labelled by Michael Owen as an ‘exceptional’ talent, the world is at Musiala’s feet having established himself as a key player for Bayern and the German national team.
And for Liverpool, the Reds should be looking to make the 20-year-old superstar a key transfer target for 2024, with the youngster a player who could thrive under Jurgen Klopp.
Whilst coming second in Kopa Trophy voting might sting personally for Musiala, the forward can feel proud of what he’s achieved in the last 12 months, and a move to Liverpool could be on the cards for next year.
