Liverpool could potentially sign Wolves winger Pedro Neto in the January transfer window.
This week has seen the Reds linked with a rekindling of interest in the 23-year-old, having reportedly been watching him for a while.
And according to TEAMTalk, Neto’s agent Jorge Mendes is ‘pushing’ to get his client a big move in 2024. That could reportedly mean a transfer to Liverpool, who are said to be ‘firmly in the mix.’

So too are Arsenal, with both clubs claimed to have been heavily scouting Neto over recent times. Tottenham Hotspur, Aston Villa and Newcastle United are three more Premier League sides credited with an interest.
There is supposedly the option of a move to Saudi Arabia available to Neto, too. But with the Portugal international said to be keen on staying in England, and Wolves reportedly ready to ‘cash in’ on his good form, Liverpool could be a real possibility.
Neto pushing for Wolves exit
As well as the information included in the report from TEAMTalk, they also run some quotes from journalist Graeme Bailey, who expands on Neto’s situation.
“I am told by sources close to Wolves that they are expecting Neto to leave in January,” Bailey says. “But their valuation would need to be met. He is under contract to 2027, but he is showing the sort of form that could persuade someone to make a move in January.
“I understand that Jorge Mendes and his staff are confident that Neto will move in 2024 and most likely in January, but it will depend on the needs of those interested parties.”

If Neto is to leave in January, then it would be a surprise if it were to Liverpool.
The former Lazio wide man is indeed in very good form. His performances so far this season have been labelled ‘unbelievable’ by Wolves legend Steve Bull [Express & Star]. It has indeed been the kinds of displays which force top clubs to splash the cash mid-season.
Liverpool aren’t averse to spending big in the winter window on a player if he’s the right fit. Down the years they’ve signed the likes of Luis Suarez, Philippe Coutinho, Virgil van Dijk and most recently Cody Gakpo in January.
But this time around, it doesn’t feel like the forward line is a priority. It might be if Mohamed Salah leaves next summer, but if Neto gets out of Wolves before that, we don’t think he’ll be heading to Anfield.
