Liverpool may possibly be lining up a move to sign Wolves winger Pedro Neto next year.
The Reds have been linked with the 23-year-old over the past few days, as Mohamed Salah’s future becomes the subject of open discussion once again.
Now lending his thoughts to proceedings is journalist Mark Critchley. Speaking on the BBC Football Gossip Daily podcast, Critchley says that Liverpool are ‘ones to watch’ in terms of Neto.

“You start to think who are the best left-footed players on the right with some Premier League quality and it would make sense if Neto was on that shortlist wouldn’t it?” says the journalist.
“It’s a hard profile to try to replace.
“Look, I don’t think Neto is at Salah levels just yet, but if you want someone who can grow into that, and who is already able to do it at this level, he will certainly be on the list I think. So, Liverpool are ones to watch.”
Neto on Liverpool’s radar
It remains to be seen whether talk of Liverpool wanting Neto is genuine, or just a case of people putting two and two together.
Because as Critchley says, it would make a lot of sense for the Reds to be after the Wolves man.
There really aren’t many players around who can come anywhere close to matching Salah’s profile. And although Neto doesn’t have anything like the output of the Egyptian, he could grow into that.

Still only 23, Neto is already into his fifth season of Premier League football.
That’s a strong body of work and as he doesn’t turn 24 until March, he’s still got so much room to develop, too.
The Portugal international is the kind of profile Liverpool have done so well at targeting in the past. Premier League proven but young and unlikely to cost as much as someone from a club higher up the food-chain. Neto could tick all of the boxes.
There’s still a long way to go between now and January, let alone the summer. But for now, if Liverpool do need to replace Salah, then this flying Portuguese would be at the top of many fans’ lists.
