Jarrod Bowen has expressed his sympathy for Liverpool after they were robbed of a goal on Saturday.
The Reds saw Luis Diaz’s perfectly good goal ruled out amid a breakdown in communications from the VAR and on-pitch officials.
The incident has received widespread condemnation from within football. However, Liverpool’s decision to put out a strongly-worded statement has interestingly been treated with far less positivity.

One of those now giving his support to Liverpool is reported target Bowen. Speaking via Football Daily today, the England international said he hoped the incident could lead to better decisions being made in the future.
“It is the main talking point at the minute and hopefully it can get sorted and see what happens from that,” Bowen says.
“But I think we all saw the mistake and what happened and when you are a club if that happened to you, it’s cost you the game, so it’s disappointing for them.
“But moving forward I think we will keep going how it is and hopefully cut out the mistakes.”
Bowen lends Liverpool support
Although this little snippet means little in regards to Liverpool’s supposed pursuit of Bowen, it’s good to hear some support from within the game.
So far, various Premier League managers have been quizzed on the incident, with a mixed bag of answers.
Obviously, Ange Postecoglou was in no mood to give the Reds too much in the way of help, while Erik ten Hag and Vincent Kompany weren’t helpful at all.

Mikel Arteta’s comments were a little more sympathetic, but this is the first time we’ve heard a player speak openly.
In truth, it may actually be something of a rarity. As Liverpool’s players suggested post-match on Saturday, they don’t feel they are protected enough to speak openly about officiating.
With Bowen – who has previously been rated as a £75m player [CaughtOffside] – asked to comment directly on what happened, and being of a neutral persuasion, his words here aren’t inflammatory.
So, while it is welcome to hear the views of those currently playing the game, it would be nice now to hear the true thoughts of those directly affected – the Liverpool players.
