Ibrahima Konate says 22-year-old Liverpool player’s defending is so underrated

Ibrahima Konate is not happy with how EA Sports have rated Dominik Szoboszlai on the new EAFC game.

Szboszlai has been one of Liverpool’s very best players so far this season, lashing in a superb goal against Leicester City on Wednesday. Aside from the obvious net-busters though, the Hungarian has impressed in just about all aspects.

His running and defensive duties have been one of the most eye-catching parts of his game. That would explain why – in a video from Liverpool’s official YouTube channel – Konate was not happy at all with Szoboszlai’s 34/100 rating.

“Honestly, defending, you are better bro!” excalimed the Frenchman, after revealing his teammate’s scores.

“What is this bro, 34? Nah, bro.”

Konate defends Szoboszlai

Clearly, as a forward-thinking midfielder, defending is not the most prominent part of Szoboszlai’s game. And yet, it still feels as though he’s been massively underrated here.

Not only does the 22-year-old have seemingly endless energy, but he knows exactly where to use it, too.

There have already been plenty of times where we’ve seen Szoboszlai race back to help his teammates out in the defensive third. He isn’t shirking his responisibilties, that’s for sure.

In that respect, it is perhaps telling that Konate is the man defending him here.

As one of Liverpool’s primary starting centre-backs, Ibou has already had plenty of chances to see Szoboszlai up close this season.

The 24-year-old has clearly seen enough that he’s prepared to back his former RB Leipzig teammate here.

If Szoboszlai keeps going the way he is, he’ll have better scores across the board when next year’s edition is released. Go out and prove them wrong, Dom!
