Jurgen Klopp has been speaking ahead of facing West Ham this weekend and had some kind words for a number of his players.
The Reds won in midweek against LASK to continue their fine start to the season. Now, eyes will turn back to Premier League action and a tough game with the Hammers.
Klopp will once again have some selection headaches – in a good way – and it seems he won’t hesitate to use young defender Jarrell Quansah if he needs to.
Jurgen Klopp praises Jarrel Quansah for Liverpool impact
Speaking to the press ahead of the game with West Ham, Klopp was asked about a number of players.

And when it came to Quansah, he admitted he’d had no trouble selecting him after being impressed with the youngster since pre-season.
“In the right moment, in the right club. That’s it. He’s our boy, fantastic boy, one with the U20s of England, obviously massive, massive competition. He played a super pre-season with us, that’s really good, and deserved to start the last game against Wolves. Some people might say it’s a brave decision, I didn’t feel it was a brave decision from us because we had obviously Ibou ready-ish, two days’ training,” Klopp said.
“We had centre-halves we had to bring in with half an hour training more or less because the others were not ready in more serious situations. But because Jarell was there, we didn’t have to do it and he did really well. I liked it a lot. It’s nice to see the smile on his face after the game. It’s really like he has now three games under his belly and nine points, I think – that’s not a bad record.”
RTK’s View: Perfect time to be a young defender
Quansah has definitely made an impression at Liverpool already and he’s in a good place to become a top player.
With Virgil van Dijk now one of the experienced members of the side, Quansah had a really big chance to learn his trade and soak up information from one of the greats of PL football.
If Quansah can continue to develop and impress Klopp like he is, then he could end up actually replacing Van Dijk down the line.
