Former Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson has taken to Instagram to praise Andy Robertson after his late goal for the Reds yesterday.

The 33-year-old England international posted on his story to praise the Liverpool defender as Robertson bagged an 85th-minute goal to put the Anfield side ahead against Wolves.

With Hugo Bueno scoring an own goal to secure a 3-1 win for Liverpool, Robertson’s late strike was key in the Reds maintaining their unbeaten record in the Premier League.

And Henderson was seriously impressed with what he saw from Robertson, with the midfielder commenting ‘love to see it’ and tagging the Scottish international to the story.

Indeed, Liverpool have done well to replace their former captain since Henderson’s controversial move to Saudi Arabia side Al-Ettifaq this summer.

Yet many fans will be pleased to see the midfielder still supporting the Reds, with Henderson’s comments on Robertson more than deserving.

Henderson’s departure from Liverpool this summer left a huge leadership void in the squad, yet the likes of Robertson have stepped up to the plate expertly.

The Scotland captain is no stranger to having weight on his shoulders, and the defender delivered expertly this weekend when it mattered most for Liverpool against Wolves.

With the Reds now just two points off top spot, Liverpool will want to maintain their form, and Robertson will be key in the coming weeks for Jurgen Klopp’s side.
