For Liverpool today, winning at Wolves was all that mattered as they fought from behind to take a big three points at Molineux.
The Reds had goals from Cody Gakpo, Andy Robertson and Harvey Elliott to thank for what was a comfortable win in the end.
However, there was no place in the starting XI again for Darwin Nunez and TNT Sport pundit Jermaine Jenas suggested on co-comms he could see why.
Jenas questions whether Darwin Nunez is the real deal
After Nunez failed to take a gamble and get into the box for a chance in the 63rd minute, Jenas got into discussion with the main commentator about Nunez and his goalscoring potential.

And when questioned about why Nunez could do it at Newcastle (where he scored a double a few weeks back), Jenas suggested the Uruguayan might not be quite as polished as some think.

They were worldies. Worldies. He’s got that in him but I don’t know. You hear the great strikers talking about sensing something or smelling blood in those moments when you’re in the box where it’s like there’s a chance for you. And you just think in situations like that, why are you not going for it?,” Jenas said.
Nunez will be hoping his cameo off the bench and the impact he had overall will lead to more starts.
Indeed, Jenas had also criticised Cody Gakpo in the first half for what he termed a ‘lost’ performance.
RTK’s View: Nunez improving all the time
Jenas made a good point at that moment about perhaps being a bit sharper in and around the box. But at the moment, Nunez is looking like one of our best forwards.
Yes, he needs to score consistently and keep the pressure on Klopp to start him more. But he did just fine today having returned from South America and looked a threat.
Nunez could perhaps do more in certain situations. However, he will learn and he is improving every week.
