Liverpool have now received a last-gasp bid from Fenerbahce for Thiago Alcantara as the Super Lig giants strive to secure the deadline day transfer of the midfield maestro.
That is according to Takvim, which reports that Fenerbahce have presented terms to Anfield chiefs and representatives of Thiago. The Yellow Canaries are determined to agree on terms for the 32-year-old’s transfer. But Ismail Kartal’s team only have September 15 to seal a deal.
The Turkish transfer window closes to Super Lig sides on September 15 to leave Kartal’s club scurrying for signatures. Fenerbahce are desperate to coax a new No6 to their squad before the sales slam shut. They have a number of options on the table but have moved for Thiago.

Fenerbahce submit a deadline day bid for Thiago’s transfer
Fenerbahce have offered Liverpool €5m (£4.3m) for Thiago’s transfer and have suggested a three-year contract. The Spaniard would also earn €7.5m-a-year (£124k-a/w) by moving to the Sukru Saracoglu Stadium. But Anfield chiefs value the midfielder at three times the bid.
Liverpool want €15m (£13m) to agree to sell their 46-cap international, who is yet to feature so far this season. Jurgen Klopp has been without Thiago through the Anfield natives’ games to date due to a hip injury. He required surgery on the issue in the final weeks of last season.

Liverpool could have two offers to consider for the midfielder

Thiago returned to training in August but is still building up his fitness after a few months on the sidelines. Now, his return may come in a Fenerbahce jersey if Liverpool reduce the price tag slapped on the Spaniard. Although the Yellow Canaries are not the only team to swoop.
According to Fanatik, Fenerbahce’s Super Lig rival Trabzonspor are confident of agreeing on Thiago’s transfer from Liverpool this Friday. They will also offer Thiago a signing-on bonus to convince him. The midfielder Roy Keane once called ‘outstanding’ is out of contract in 2024.
