Former Liverpool striker Divock Origi sent a familiar sounding message after completing a move to Nottingham Forest last night.

Origi had been rumoured to be on his way back to the Premier League having had a terrible time of it at AC Milan.

In the end it was Forest who gave him a route out of Italy, the £10m ex-Liverpool signing joining on a season-long loan. And after the transfer was announced, the Nottingham-based team posted a Twitter video of Origi introducing himself to his new fans.

“Hi Forest fans, Divock Origi here. Can’t wait to join you at the City Ground. Come on you Reds!”

We know, we know, not those Reds. But still, nice to see Divock back in the colour he’ll always be associated with.

Origi makes Premier League return

Once again, Forest look to have done some great business in the transfer market. Origi was one of six new signings announced yesterday.

Among them was Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi as well as former reported Liverpool target Ibrahim Sangare.

Sangare spent a portion of last season being linked with the Reds. It’ll be interesting to see if he’s able to prove his quality for one of the division’s smaller sides.

If he can do that, maybe a move to one of the big boys could soon follow.

For Origi, he’ll have to do battle with another former Liverpool player – Taiwo Awoniyi – for a starting spot.

Awoniyi is one of the country’s most in-form strikers right now though, so the 28-year-old may perhaps have to wait for his chance.

But while Origi’s starting spot in his new team may not be secure, there is something absolutely without question in his return to England. When Forest come to Anfield on Sunday October 29th, the big man is going to get one heck of a reception. Nailed on. No doubt about it. Welcome back, Div.
