Former Liverpool striker Divock Origi is keen to get back to English football, after a miserable spell in Italy.
Origi left Liverpool a hero this time last year. Hailed as ‘exceptional’ by Jurgen Klopp during eight hugely successful years at Anfield, the Belgian headed off for a new adventure in Milan.
Unfortunately though, things haven’t gone to plan for Divock. Having at times even been booed by his own fans, Calciomercato report that coach Stefano Pioli has more or less given up on him.

Despite being offered out to the market though, there has reportedly been little interest in the 28-year-old. Origi is said to have had some offers from Saudi Arabia, but turned them down, while ‘timid contacts’ with Turkish clubs have also come to nothing.
Instead, it’s claimed that Origi really wants to return to England and to the Premier League. To that end, Calciomercato report that Sheffield United have ‘come forward’ with interest. However, with no offer said to be on the table, a move doesn’t look imminent.

Origi angling for Premier League move
Poor Divock. A year ago, having left Liverpool, Milan actually looked like a really good landing spot for him.
Serie A champions at the time, they had a young and exciting project ready to go to the next level.
But – through little fault of Origi’s – Milan failed to fire in 2022/23. With the team struggling to get going, the former Liverpool man found it difficult coming in and out of the side.

He could certainly have found the net more often than the two strikes he did manage. But as a back-up, it seems unfair to pin the team’s failings on the Belgium international.
Either way, Pioli looks to have run out of patience with Origi.
On a big wage in Milan, it seems as though it’s been tricky to get him off their books.
In that scenario, the deep pockets of a Premier League side are probably the Rossoneri’s best bet, anyway. If Sheffield United can get a bid together, they could certainly do a lot worse. Come home, Div.
