Stade Rennais winger Jeremy Doku is reportedly keen on a move to Manchester City, with Liverpool rumoured to be interested in the forward.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the Belgian international is ready to make the switch to the Etihad Stadium this summer amid growing reports that City are interested in signing Doku.
Liverpool have also been linked with a move for the youngster this window, though the Reds are not focused in the slightest in signing a player like Doku given their midfield and defence issues that need addressing.
Reportedly worth as much as £66m, Doku would be quite the expensive signing for City in their quest to replace Riyad Mahrez, who this summer joined the likes of Neymar, Karim Benzema and Fabinho in Saudi Arabia.
And Liverpool could now be close to missing out on Doku to City, a player the Reds have been chasing since the winger was just 16-years-old during his days back in Belgium with R.S.C. Anderlecht.

Doku to Manchester City would be a massive blow for Liverpool

Liverpool clearly aren’t in need of any wingers this summer, yet given Doku’s age and potential, there’s no denying that the winger would have been an exceptional addition to Jurgen Klopp’s ranks for years to come.
However, with Doku wanting a move to City and a transfer now coming to a head, there’s a real chance that Liverpool will once again let a long-term target slip through their fingers.
Indeed, Doku could have been the true heir to Mohamed Salah’s throne at Liverpool, yet City will now reap the rewards of the winger coming to the Premier League in what could be a very exciting transfer.
