Liverpool are weighing up whether or not to push forward with a plan to sign Fluminense midfielder Andre Trindade in January.
The Reds have been heavily linked with a move for Andre in recent weeks, with the 22-year-old said to be a possible alternative to Romeo Lavia.
Since then, Liverpool have made a huge move to sign Moises Caicedo, which is waiting to be resolved. Before that record-breaking bid on Friday morning, Brazilian outlet Globo offered an update on Andre.

They claim that with Fluminense having progressed in the Copa Libertadores, they won’t sell their star man. This reportedly hasn’t deterred Liverpool, who are still interested. But the Reds have been told that a deal can only be done in January.
As a result, Liverpool are said to be ‘assessing the situation’ in regards to a move in the New Year. Fulham and Sporting are claimed to be the two other teams still pushing to get Andre in either now, or in five months time.

Liverpool pondering Andre wait
Initially, it had looked as though Andre had been a cheaper alternative to Lavia. With the Caicedo bid coming to light in the days since, this now looks even more like being the case.
If they do get the £111m deal for the Ecuadorian over the line, they may need to scrimp slightly in other areas.
Certainly, you wouldn’t think Liverpool could put £50m up after spending over 100.

With Andre’s price-tag reported to be no more than £34m, he’d be much more affordable than Lavia.
Nevertheless, if Liverpool want to get him out of Fluminense right now, they’d have to pay a premium. If they wait until their season is over, the price is likely to come down.
As they prepare to have to replace Thiago in 12 months time, a January arrival would be good timing for Andre.
Described as ‘dynamic’ by tactical analysts Breaking The Lines, he could be an excellent successor to the Spaniard. If Liverpool can also get either Lavia or Caicedo over the line in the next couple of weeks, the Brazil international would complete the rebuild in the winter. There doesn’t seem a whole lot to think about for us. Get his done.
