Chelsea are preparing an offer of more than £110m in an effort to wrangle Moises Caicedo out of Liverpool’s grasp.
The Reds look set to sign the Ecuadorian today, having had a record-breaking bid accepted by Brighton last night. With claims that a medical will take place later in the day, Caicedo is almost a Liverpool player.
But according to The Guardian, Reds fans should leave the champagne on ice for the moment. They claim that Chelsea are ready to offer more than Liverpool’s current winning bid in an attempt to win back Caicedo.

It’s claimed that having been ‘stunned’ by the Reds audacious late swoop, the West Londoners aren’t prepared to give up on their top summer target.
As a result, the situation is said be remain ‘unpredictable,’ despite Liverpool’s deal with Brighton. With the Seagulls having said a midnight deadline for bids last night, it’s reportedly ‘unclear’ whether or not the blues have missed their chance.

Chelsea preparing massive Caicedo bid
If Brighton are to honour their deadline declaration from last night, then Liverpool have nothing to worry about here.
Having pushed the clubs into making a decision, it wouldn’t seem fair to renege on that now. They’re already guaranteed to bag an enormous fee for Caicedo as it is.
Sure, they may get more money from Chelsea, but they’ve also been a bit of a nightmare to deal with.

Despite knowing Brighton’s asking price from the beginning of negotiations, the Blues lowballed the Seagulls on a number of occassions.
Now that the going’s got tough, they’re ready to meet what they should have done in the first place.
But then again, this is football, this is business. If Brighton simply feel they want to get as much as possible for Caicedo, then the Reds will be in trouble.
With Caicedo himself still said to have been pushing for a move to Chelsea, there’s only one way this goes if the bidding is reopened. It’s going to be a long day!
