Brighton negotiated a sell-on clause into the agreement to sell Moises Caicedo to Liverpool last night.
As of now, the Reds look on course to complete the signing of Caicedo, having agreed to pay a British record transfer fee to Brighton.
According to Sky Sports journalist Melissa Reddy on Twitter, the final amount of the deal will come to £111m. The Seagulls will also reportedly have an undisclosed sell-on clause.

“Liverpool’s British transfer record bid for Moises Caicedo is actually £111m, with Brighton having sell-on clause,” Reddy reports.
With Chelsea struggling to meet Tony Bloom’s expectations, it seems that Liverpool made sure to negotiate on the Seagulls terms. Good work, Reds.

Liverpool keep Brighton happy
As Brighton continue to produce excellent players ready for top-level football, it certainly pays to keep them sweet.
Having already seen a smooth transfer of Alexis Mac Allister go through, the Reds seem to be in their good books.
And this no-nonsense deal for Caicedo should hopefully help to further that relationship.

Back when Southampton were the Brighton of their day, Liverpool certainly benefitted from keeping on their good side. The slightly fraught Virgil van Dijk saga perhaps put an end to that, with no player coming from St Mary’s to Anfield since.
But having already plundered the likes of Sadio Mane, Adam Lallana, Dejan Lovren and more, it was a mutually beneficial relationship.
The same could already be said of the links growing between Liverpool and Brighton. While the Reds looks set to have Mac Allister and Caicedo in their squad next season, the South Coast side will have James Milner and Lallana.
So, given this state of affairs and a slightly unnecessary sell-on clause here, we don’t think this is the last time the two clubs will do business.
