Liverpool could now reportedly have another shot at signing Nicolo Barella, with Inter Milan open to the idea of selling the midfielder.

According to CalcioMercato, the Italian giants now view the 26-year-old as a player who leave for the right price, with Barella valued at Inter as highly as €80m (£68m) this summer.

As per the report, Inter’s sudden change in tune comes with the arrival of Serbian midfielder Lazar Samardzic from Udinese, with the Nerrazzuri predicting big things from the 21-year-old in the years to come.

As a result, Inter are now open to the idea of selling Barella, with Liverpool one of the sides linked with signing the Italian international, who could be a dream signing for the Reds.

Praised by Steven Gerrard as a ‘world-class’ talent, Barella is one of the best creative midfielders in the world and would be an outstanding replacement for the likes of Jordan Henderson at Liverpool.

And Inter’s new stance on their star maestro could inspire a move from Liverpool, even if the money involved could be something the Anfield side are actively looking to avoid at this stage of the window.

Barella is easily one of the best midfielders in Europe and a player that Liverpool have been strongly linked with over the years for good reason, and the Reds have to now consider a move for the Inter star.

Whilst the finances involved in such a deal could hurt the club in the short-term, there’s no denying just how good a player like Barella could be for Liverpool in their new-look midfield.

Moreover, with Inter now hinting at a sale, there’s every chance that Liverpool could work their magic to sign Barella at a lower price, something the Reds have already managed this summer for Alexis Mac Allister.
