Barcelona want to sell Frank Kessie to the Premier League this summer and Liverpool are one club that have been linked with the midfielder.

According to Mundo Deportivo, the Catalan giants are hoping to sell Kessie next week and they see the English top flight as his next destination.

The Ivorian joined Barcelona on a free transfer from AC Milan last summer, signing a four-year deal with a buyout clause set at a whopping €500 million.

Kessie enjoyed an unbelievable stint in Milan and was hailed as ‘devastating’ by the club’s former striker Antonio Cassano, however he has been unable to replicate his form in La Liga.

While Kessie did net a late winner against Real Madrid in March, it proved to be his only league goal for Barcelona as he managed only seven starts last season.

The report claims that Barcelona will now look to move Kessie on and are hopeful they can get a fee from an English club, while the interested Juventus are only interested in a loan deal.

The 26-year-old is said to be eager to prove himself in Spain, however if he is to move to the Premier League then he would only be interested in joining a ‘Big Six’ club.

Liverpool are one club that have been heavily linked with Kessie this summer, with the Daily Mail reporting last month that they were considering offering £30 million to lure him to Anfield.

The Reds look set to be closing in on a deal for Romeo Lavia this week, however they could still look to add another midfielder if both Fabinho and Jordan Henderson secure moves to Saudi Arabia.

Could Frank Kessie rediscover his form at Liverpool?

Frank Kessie was very highly rated during his time at AC Milan and would perhaps be given more of a chance at Barcelona if they weren’t in desperate need of some cash.

However, Liverpool could look to take advantage of his looming exit, with Jurgen Klopp the one manager that could definitely get him back to his best.

The Reds need to bring some more experience to their new-look midfield and Kessie could be a great addition, with his 35 league goals over five years for AC Milan very intriguing.

Whether they will want to meet his £30m valuation is another story, with their midfield transfer spree potentially reaching close to £150m if Lavia joins.
