Liverpool insiders reportedly think Thiago Alcantara could leave this summer for FC Barcelona, joining Jordan Henderson and Fabinho out of Anfield.

According to journalist Sacha Tavolieri, the Spanish international leaving Liverpool for a return to Catalonia is now a concrete possibility, with the 32-year-old being linked with a move to Barcelona this week amid growing speculation around Thiago’s future.

Reports this summer have indicated that Liverpool are open to letting Thiago leave should a suitable offer come through for the midfielder. And Barcelona could now be ready to do just that in the coming weeks, with the former Bayern Munich man keen on a return home.

Whilst Barcelona’s financial situation might be worrying, there is always a chance that Xavi Hernandez’s side will manage to scramble together enough to make a suitable bid for Thiago, who could decide to leave Liverpool one year before his contract expires.

Thiago’s future at Anfield already seems determined with the midfielder’s contract due to expire next summer. And with Barcelona interested in the Liverpool star, a suitable bid should be accepted by the Reds if the Catalan giants can afford to make one.

Indeed, Thiago seems open on a move home to Barcelona. And with interest now there from all parties, a bid from Xavi’s side that Liverpool find suitable could be all it takes for the deal to be done, even if it’ll leave Klopp fairly light in the central midfield department.
