Jamie Carragher has taken to social media to react to the surprise news that both Jordan Henderson and Fabinho are subject to strong interest from Saudi Arabian clubs.
Taking to Twitter, the Anfield legend questioned why some fans were annoyed with how Liverpool’s owners were going about news this week that Henderson is leaning towards a move to Steven Gerrard’s Al-Ettifaq, with Fabinho also subjected to a £40m offer from Al-Ittihad as per the Atheltic.
The news has come as a shock to everyone at Liverpool, with Carragher no different based on his reaction on social media as the Reds could now potentially lose two key midfielders having already lost James Milner, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Naby Keita this summer.
Indeed, whilst losing Fabinho and Henderson would be a mammoth blow for the Reds, there is a grain of truth in Carragher’s comments that the money made will be used to sign a third midfielder. However, no player could replace the leadership the duo bring for Jurgen Klopp’s side.
Liverpool can’t afford to lose both Henderson and Fabinho this window

Liverpool could be set for a major payday this summer if they can work their negotiating magic for Fabinho and Henderson. However, allowing both players to leave in the same window would be a huge mistake from the Reds, and one that will be hard to fix in the market.
After all, Henderson and Fabinho departing would only leave one experienced midfielder in the group in Thiago Alcantara. And with the Spaniard linked with his own transfer, Liverpool can’t allow the pool of leaders to decrease that much this summer.
