Jordan Henderson has reportedly been offered a contract worth close to £200,000-a-week to move to Saudi Arabia, with Steven Gerrard keen on signing the midfielder.
According to the Daily Mail, Al-Ettifaq are pushing hard to sign the 32-year-old Liverpool skipper amid growing reports that Henderson could actually make the move to the Middle East, with the midfielder now subject to a contract offer worth £200,000-a-week.
Lauded by Jurgen Klopp as an ‘outstanding’ player, the chances of Henderson now moving to Saudi Arabia now feel greatly increased following today’s latest update, with £200,000-a-week a significant pay increase for a midfielder approaching the final years of his career.

However, with Henderson Liverpool’s captain and set to be a major figure in the squad for next season, taking the move to Saudi Arabia would be quite the disappointing decision from the skipper, especially with how important the 32-year-old is off the pitch for the Reds.
Indeed, Henderson signing for Al-Ettifaq would be one of the most shocking transfers of the summer. Yet for the midfielder, the decision is now up to him on whether or not he wants to continue on at Liverpool or make the move out east to Saudi Arabia.
Henderson should not be swayed by Saudi Arabian money

It would be something of an understatement to say that Henderson moving to Saudi Arabia would be one of the most disappointing transfers in recent Liverpool transfers, with the financial and underlying political messaging behind such a move factors that will tarnish the midfielder’s legacy at Anfield.
Henderson might be unfairly criticised by some supporters, but there’s no denying that the 32-year-old has been a great captain and a leading role model off the pitch since for Liverpool. And moving to Saudi Arabia would all-but undo all this good work for the England international.
