Jordan Henderson has reportedly decided not to join Steven Gerrard in Saudi Arabia with Al-Ettifaq, with the midfielder focused on playing for Liverpool.
According to journalist Ben Jacobs, the England international has made the decision to stay on at Anfield amid recent reports that the 32-year-old was a prime target for Al-Ettifaq, with Gerrard eager to bring the Liverpool captain with him to Saudi Arabia.

With Henderson Liverpool’s skipper and one of the most important figures at the club, quitting Merseyside to head to the Middle East always felt like a farfetched idea. Yet there is now reliable confirmation out there that the midfielder won’t be heading to Saudi Arabia.
The likes of Karim Benzema, N’Golo Kante and more recently Sergej Milinkovic-Savic have all made the move to the Arab country this summer after a huge investment in football from the country’s Public Investement Fund. Yet one player who won’t be making their way to Saudi Arabia is Henderson.
Henderson to Saudi Arabia was always going to be a stretch

Henderson to Saudi Arabia was a rumour that always felt like it had too little legs to stand on. And this latest update seems to put a nail in the coffin over such a transfer, with the midfielder now set to stay in England ahead of Euro 2024 with Liverpool.
Indeed, Henderson leaving Liverpool is a reality that could happen in the next 12 months. Yet given all the work the midfielder has done off the pitch, Saudi Arabia would be one of the last places many fans would expect the England international to move to.
