Trent Alexander-Arnold has admitted that new Liverpool signings Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai are ‘dream’ teammates.
The pair are set for their first day of training today, as the bulk of Jurgen Klopp’s squad return from their summer breaks. Trent will be back, too. And speaking to Sky Sports ahead of meeting Mac Allister and Szoboszlai, the 24-year-old praised the ‘technical excellence’ of both players.
“Top players, exciting for the team, exciting for the club,” Alexander-Arnold said. “It’s always exciting when we sign new players to see how they come in and how they adapt and what they’re like.

“I’m sure they already know we are a welcoming side, a welcoming team, they can see from the outside. It’s a good dressing room and you just come in, do your work and get results. That’s all we ask of players, to buy into what we do, buy into the plan and be willing to work hard and sacrifice for the team.
“I’m sure the lads will do it and on top of that, two technically excellent players who can receive the ball and play with the ball.
“For players like me who enjoy playing with the ball and passing the ball they are dream players ahead of me.”
First day beckons for new signings
Today is an exciting day for Reds fans, as their two new signings become full-fledged Liverpool players.
No doubt there will be plenty of content throughout the day as Mac Allister and Szoboszlai meet their new teammates.
Once the meet and greets are out of the way though, focus will be on what they can do on the pitch. There must be nerves for any player walking into train with the likes of Alexander-Arnold for the first time.

But as Trent mentions, both Mac Allister and Szoboszlai are technically excellent. Neither should have anything to worry about.
Hopefully the pair will be able to strike up an understanding with the Scouser and the rest of the Liverpool squad right from the get-go.
If they can do that, it will help their chances of being in the starting XI immediately. Both are good enough to do that, but if they don’t adapt straight away, Klopp will have no problem easing them into the team more slowly.
The first steps of seeing whether that will be the case will be made today. Just like Trent, we’re excited by that prospect.
