PSG have not received a bid from Liverpool for Kylian Mbappe and are suspecting he has an agreement with Real Madrid.

Sensational reports from Spain earlier in the week had claimed that the Reds had submitted a gigantic offer for the France superstar. The claims weren’t especially believable, but a player like Mbappe always generates excitement.

As a result, journalist Fabrizio Romano felt the need to clear up the rumours. Romano took to his YouTube channel last night to clarify the current situation around Mbappe.

“After many questions from you about Liverpool, also Arsenal and some of the English clubs. What I can say is that people around Paris Saint Germain feel that Kylian Mbappe has an agreement ready with Real Madrid for 2024,” said the journalist. “The feeling is very strong.”

“From PSG they are convinced that it’s not Liverpool or any English club, it’s Real Madrid. At least for PSG they guarantee that at the moment they have not received any bid from English clubs, they have nothing in their hands from these clubs.

“They feel the agreement is with Real Madrid.”

No Mbappe bid from Liverpool

Mbappe joining Real Madrid has felt like an inevitability for a long, long while now. Just like it was with the Jude Bellingham saga, it will be a relief when it’s all over.

At least that will put an end to the suggestions that Liverpool are going to swoop in with a £170m+ offer and take him to Anfield.

There was a time when it looked like that might actually be a possibility. But that time has passed. Mbappe himself has reportedly even decided that he prefers Arsenal over the Reds now. Arsenal.

In truth, he may as well prefer to join Tranmere Rovers over Liverpool, there’s only one place he’s ending up either way.

Once the 24-year-old has gotten bored with Real Madrid, who’s to say where he ends up. Perhaps he will fancy a jaunt in the Premier League in his late 20’s.

If that time ever does come, Liverpool will hopefully be back in the conversation. Actually in it. For all the circus around him, Mbappe is clearly the ‘world-class’ player Virgil van Dijk said he was back in March [Sky Sports News]. He’d obviously be brilliant at Anfield.

For now though, we can all see the way this goes. PSG are being led a merry dance by this World Cup winner, he’s on his way to La Liga next year. For nothing.
