Liverpool are still holding ‘concrete’ talks with Romeo Lavia as they ponder meeting his asking price.
Having already signed Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai, the Southampton midfielder now looks to be Liverpool’s sole priority in the transfer market.
And to that end, journalist Florian Plettenberg has reported on Twitter that the Reds are still in direct conversation with Lavia.

“Romeo Lavia, there are still concrete talks with Chelsea, Arsenal, especially with Liverpool as Klopp is a big fan!” says Plettenberg.
“Been told that his price tag is around £50m this summer! Confirmed: Barcelona was targeting the 19 y/o but his price is not affordable for Barca this summer.”
Liverpool in talks with Lavia
If Liverpool are to make a third midfield signing this summer, it looks highly likely that it’ll be Lavia.
A plethora of names have been mentioned up to this point, but it’s all gone quiet on the likes of Ryan Gravenberch and Khephren Thuram. Lavia is the only ticket in town.
Whether or not the Reds will be able to cash that ticket in remains to be seen. The £50m price-tag looks a little high and however much he likes the 19-year-old, Klopp reportedly agrees with that.

With other top clubs in the running too, it isn’t going to be a cake-walk to get Lavia to Anfield. Nor should it be, the teenager has been called ‘incredible’ by the likes of Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola [The Times].
Nevertheless, it sounds like Liverpool are the team pushing the hardest right now. Barca have already seemingly bowed out and you can see others doing the same, too.
Whether Liverpool do or don’t will be an indication of just how much they want the Belgium international.
With Klopp now driving the recruitment strategy, we’ll soon see how big a fan he is of Lavia. Keep your eyes on this one, hopefully we’ll get some kind of breakthrough next week.
