Club will try everything they can to make ‘outstanding’ player push for a move away from Liverpool

RB Leipzig will do everything possible to convince Fabio Carvalho to leave Liverpool and join them on a permanent basis.

According to reports at the end of last week, Carvalho is on the verge of securing a loan move to Leipzig for the upcoming season. That’s said to be a little against the German club’s wishes – they were hoping for a full sale rather than a loan.

And now, according to BILD, the Red Bull side are still holding out hope that they’ll get their wish. They claim that Leipzig are ‘thinking a lot’ about how to convince Liverpool to let Carvalho go permanently.

To that end, it’s claimed that they’re planning to make the 20-year-old feel as comfortable as possible in Germany. With regular playing time on offer, Leipzig are crossing their fingers that Carvalho simply won’t want to go back to Liverpool.

If that does come to pass, the Germans reportedly believe it will strengthen their hand in negotiations with the Reds next year.

Carvalho ready for Leipzig loan

You have to give credit to Liverpool here. If all goes through as expected, they’ve done well to make sure Carvalho remains on their books in the long term.

Leipzig aren’t the kind of team to mess around. They like to do business on their terms and aren’t usually a club who willingly develop players for others.

Over the last decade, they’ve become notorious for developing top talent and selling them on for big profits.

In that respect, you can see why Carvalho is so attractive to them. Having been pushed out of the team at Liverpool, his price is probably the lowest it will ever be right now.

The Portugal U21 star is very talented though, and will no doubt light up the Bundesliga if given the chance to. Leipzig know that there could be a chance to ‘flip’ a young player down on his luck.

But, credit to Liverpool, they stood firm and held their ground. Jurgen Klopp obviously rates Carvalho, he raved about him plenty towards the end of last season, calling him ‘outstanding’ for the his attitude in training. If he goes away and does well, there should still be a pathway for him at Anfield.

With any loan move there is a danger that the player’s head will be turned, though. If Carvalho enjoys his time at Leipzig, who can say he won’t want a permanent move there. The crucial point here though, is that if he does set the place alight, Liverpool can demand a much bigger fee than the one they’d get now. Win-win.
