Bukayo Saka has lauded Trent Alexander-Arnold after the Liverpool defender told the Arsenal man what pass he was going to make for the winger against North Macedonia.
Speaking to Channel 4, the 21-year-old forward revealed that Alexander-Arnold told Saka at half-time that he was going to play a pass behind the defence to allow the Arsenal winger to burst through on goal, with the forward scoring the goal of the game in the process.
Saka bagged his first professional hat-trick as England claimed a comfortable 7-0 win against North Macedonia. But again, it was Alexander-Arnold’s performance from midfield that stole the headlines, with the Liverpool man again impressing in the position.

Indeed, Alexander-Arnold and Saka are forming quite the partnership down the right-hand side for England. And there’s now a growing excitement amongst supporters that the pair could be key in a potential Euro 2024 triumph next year in Germany.
And for Saka, the Arsenal winger seems to love playing alongside Alexander-Arnold, with the forward saying: “He’s a top, top player, everyone knows that. At half-time he told me he was going to play that pass [for the goal], and I didn’t even need to break stride, so credit to him.”
Alexander-Arnold and Saka could lead England to glory next year

Gareth Southgate has been rightly criticised for his treatment over Alexander-Arnold. Yet with the Liverpool star thriving in midfield for England this international break, it’s hard to see how the Three Lions manager can drop the 24-year-old, especially with his partnership with Saka as good as it is.
With the Euros now 12 months away, there’s a real chance that Alexander-Arnold and Saka will be starters for England out in Germany. And if the pair can continue playing together, Southgate could finally bring silverware home with the duo working off each other so efficiently.
